My husband Robert and I decided to start our
business in January 2005 after hurricane Ivan
destroyed the Gulf Coast in September 2004,
including the business he was working for. So with a
small business loan, "Scruggs Rugs and Floor
Coverings" was born.
We started working out of our home in Pensacola
while we looked for a shop. Of course, after the
hurricane our choices were limited. We happened to
be doing some work for a customer in Milton that had
a shop for lease, but it needed extensive work. It
turned out to be a good fit, and we opened our doors
in October 2006.
With contacts Robert had from his 25 years in the
flooring industry, we kept busy until the locals
started checking us out. We haven't looked back
since. Our Santa Rosa clientele have been, and
continue to be some of the best, and most loyal
customers we could have hoped for.
We serve the entire southeast, and have created
some of the most memorable, and unique pieces for
our customers in Orange Beach, Pensacola Beach,
and Ono Island.
Our attention to detail, craftsmanship, quality of
products, and integrity keep our customers coming
back and referring us to friends and family.
